AIU Educational Alliance Grant

AIU has established a grant* in the name of its educational alliance members in order to assist eligible students interested in attending AIU.  Students must meet the criteria in one of the categories listed below to be eligible for this grant.  

  1. An employee or member of a company or organization that is an educational alliance member.  Immediate family members of the eligible employee or member are also eligible to receive this grant.  Immediate family members are defined as spouse, domestic partner, life partner or dependent (natural/adopted/stepchild) children. Siblings, cousins, etc. are not considered an immediate family member.  Students in this category may use this grant to attend an AIU degree program.
  2. A student who previously attended an institution that an active articulation agreement with AIU.  Students in this category may use this grant to attend an AIU degree program or to take individual classes as a non-degree seeking student.

In addition to the AIU General Grant and Scholarship Conditions, students must also meet the following criteria before the grant can be disbursed: 

  • The grant is awarded proportionately over each applicable academic year and the grant will be applied to the academic year tuition costs.
  • Qualifying students must complete the Educational Alliances Attestation form in which they agree to allow for verification of grant eligibility.  They must meet the requirements for one of the following categories at the time the Attestation is completed in order to receive the grant.
    • Current employee of an AIU educational alliance member or current member of an organization that is an AIU educational alliance member.
    • Immediate family member (as defined above) of a current employee of an AIU educational alliance member or current member of an organization that is an AIU educational alliance member.
    • Student who previously attended an institution that has an active articulation agreement with AIU. 
  • Students selected for eligibility verification must provide documentation before the grant is applied and prior to the first day of class. Documentation must show the effective date of employment or membership or proof of attendance at the prior institution.

The grant is non-transferable and non-substitutable and cannot be combined with the following institutional grants: AIU Military Spouse Grant, AIU Veterans Grant, or AIU Lifelong Learning Grant.  It can be combined with the military tuition rate.  The grant, scholarship, or tuition rate with the greatest benefit to the student will be applied.

 

*Grant percentages may vary by educational alliance member (ranging anywhere from 5% - 50% of the tuition costs). Please contact the Financial Aid Office to determine the exact grant percentage for which you may qualify.
