AIU Military Spouse Grant
AIU has established a grant for spouses of active duty and/or drilling members of the U.S. military interested in attending a degree program at AIU. Spouses may be eligible for a grant up to 10% of tuition costs. The grant is awarded over each applicable academic year and applied to the academic year tuition costs.
In addition to the AIU General Grant and Scholarship Conditions, students must also meet the following criteria:
- Students must be a spouse of active duty and/or drilling members of the U.S. military.
- Eligible students must complete the Military Spouse Grant Attestation Form in which they agree to allow for verification of grant eligibility. They must meet eligibility requirements at the time the Attestation is completed in order to receive the grant.
- Students selected for eligibility verification must provide documentation of their spouse's military status before the grant is applied and prior to the first day of class. Documentation may be requested multiple times throughout the program to ensure eligibility criteria are maintained.
- All of the conditions must be fulfilled before the grant can be disbursed.
The grant amount, combined with all other sources of aid available to the student (federal/state financial aid grants and loan funds, military benefits, private alternative loans, employer tuition reimbursement etc.) may not exceed the total tuition cost for the academic year. In instances where this occurs, the grant will be reduced accordingly.
The grant can only be combined with the Determination Grant. The grant with the greatest benefit to the student will be applied.
Students utilizing Post 9/11® (Chapter 33) benefits are ineligible to receive this grant.
