AIU Educational Alliance Grant

AIU has established a grant* in the name of its educational alliance members to assist eligible students interested in attending AIU.  The grant is awarded over each applicable academic year and the grant percentage will be applied to the academic year tuition costs. The grant can be used to attend an AIU degree program or to take individual courses as a non-degree seeking student; this is subject to any restrictions that are part of the agreement with the specific alliance member. 

Students must meet the criteria in one of the categories listed below to be eligible for this grant.  

  1. Be an eligible employee or member of a company or organization that is an educational alliance member,
  2. Be an immediate family member of an eligible employee or member of a company or organization that is an AIU educational alliance member. Immediate family members are defined as spouse, domestic partner, life partner, or dependent (natural/adopted/stepchild) children. Siblings, cousins, etc. are not considered an immediate family member, or,
  3. Be a student who attended an institution that has an active articulation and educational alliance agreement with AIU. 

In addition to the AIU General Grant and Scholarship Conditions, students must also meet the following criteria before the grant can be disbursed: 

  • Qualifying students must complete the Educational Alliances Attestation form in which they agree to allow for verification of grant eligibility.  They must meet the requirements for one of the categories listed above at the time the Attestation is completed in order to receive the grant.

  • Students selected for eligibility verification must provide documentation before the grant is applied and prior to the first day of class. Documentation must show the effective date of employment or membership or proof of attendance at the prior institution.  Documentation may be requested multiple times throughout the course of the program to ensure eligibility criteria is maintained. 

The grant is non-transferable and non-substitutable. May be combined with the Student Determination Grant, military tuition rate, Post 9/11 GI Bill® benefits or Veteran Readiness and Employment benefits. When combined with other financial assistance, student may be awarded above the direct cost to attend school.

 

*Grant percentages may vary by educational alliance member (ranging anywhere from 5% - 50% of the tuition costs). Please contact the Financial Aid Office to determine the exact grant percentage for which you may qualify.
