Accreditation
American InterContinental University is a member of the American InterContinental University System. The System is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (hlcommission.org), an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Programmatic Accreditation
- American InterContinental University is a member in good standing of the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP) a national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. AAQEP accreditation affirms that a program prepares effective educators who continue to grow as professionals and that the program has demonstrated the commitment and capacity to maintain quality. AAQEP has awarded accreditation status to the programs listed below, which must host their next site visit prior to June 30, 2026 to maintain accreditation.
- Master of Education (M.Ed.)
- American InterContinental University's business programs, with all their specializations, are programmatically accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
Licensure
- AIU Chandler (online campus) is a member of the American InterContinental University System, which is licensed by the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education.
- AIU Atlanta is authorized by the State of Georgia to operate by the Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission, 2082 East Exchange Place, Suite 220, Tucker, GA 30084-5305.
- AIU Houston is authorized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to offer degrees and courses leading to degrees in Texas.
