AIU New Student Grant
The purpose of the New Student Grant is to help new students successfully complete their first term at AIU. Many new students may struggle during their first term and often distractions due to financial constraints can be a contributing factor. This grant allows the University an opportunity to evaluate how removing this constraint may affect student persistence and retention. The grant is a one-time award to be applied towards the student’s first term tuition as shown in the table below.

*The grant will be prorated for students enrolled less than full-time.
Eligible students receive an institutional grant towards tuition. The grant may not exceed the tuition charge assessed for the first term. The grant is applied as a credit to the student’s account. The grant is not transferrable and may not be redeemed for cash for credit.
In addition to the AIU General Grant and Scholarship Conditions, students must also meet the following criteria:

Students must be considered a new enrollment (defined here as either first-time enrolled at AIU or has not attended at AIU for at least 365 days). AIU alumni who enroll in a program at a new degree level (i.e., bachelor’s to master’s) are also eligible.

This program is effective for eligible students with a start date of 10/25/2023.
This grant may be discontinued at any time. The New Student Grant may be combined with Chapter 30, Montgomery GI Bill, Chapter 31, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment, Chapter 33, Post 9/11 GI Bill®, and Chapter 35, Survivor and Dependents Educational Assistance benefits (VA Programs). This grant cannot be combined with any other scholarships or grants (including the Impact Grant), although students may be considered for scholarships and grants in subsequent terms. International students (those attending on an F-1 visa) are not eligible for this grant.
