Email Policy
The following guidelines apply to the use of e-mail at AIU campuses. Failure to follow these established guidelines could lead to administrative action or withdrawal from AIU. If AIU students, staff, or faculty conduct unethical and illegal practices, AIU administration will take swift action against all violators to enforce the highest quality standards for the welfare of all.
Access to and the responsible use of modern information resources is essential to the pursuit and achievement of excellence at American InterContinental University. The University encourages appropriate use of e-mail to enhance productivity through the efficient exchange of information in furtherance of quality education and the campus mission.
Messages sent as electronic mail should meet the same standards for distribution or display as if they were tangible documents or instruments. Identify yourself clearly and accurately in all electronic communications. Concealing or misrepresenting your name or affiliation to dissociate yourself from responsibility for your actions is never appropriate. Alteration of the source of electronic mail, message or posting is unethical and possibly illegal. Do not view anyone else’s data (files, e-mails, etc.) without the creator/owner’s explicit consent. Presume such data is private and confidential.
