Program Description

The Associate of Science degree program in Criminal Justice is designed to prepare students to enter the criminal justice profession in a variety of first-line positions. Students in the program are exposed to the foundational areas of the criminal justice system: law enforcement, the courts, corrections and the juvenile justice system.

Program Outcomes

  • Demonstrate foundational knowledge of law enforcement, the courts, corrections and the juvenile justice system
  • Describe and differentiate the various explanations of crime causation
  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities to obtain an entry level position in the criminal justice field

This program is not designed to meet the educational requirements for a specific professional license or certification that is required for employment in an occupation.  As such, AIU has made no determination regarding prerequisites for licensure or certification in any state or jurisdiction.
