Student Clubs, Events, and Organizations
AIU students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of student activities outside the classroom. These activities vary across AIU campuses. Participation enriches the overall University experience, provides exposure to peers with similar interests, and contributes to student learning. These activities make up part of the co-curriculum—voluntary opportunities outside the classroom that accompany the academic experience.
Activities may include traditional clubs, one-time or recurring events, and organizations such as honor societies. Participation in honor societies is contingent upon certain academic accomplishments. Activities may foster leadership development, facilitate improvement of people skills, and encourage characteristics desired by employers; they may be linked directly to learning outcomes from the curriculum, or may simply be fun opportunities to bond with staff, faculty, and other students in a way that emphasizes encouragement, perseverance, and mutual support.
Student activities are structured to be inclusive of all members of the AIU student community.
