AIU Student Determination Grant
American InterContinental University offers the Student Determination Grant to undergraduate students who are enrolled in a Title IV eligible program, have exhausted all federal/state aid available, established a minimum monthly payment with the institution and have unmet financial need for the applicable academic year.
The institutional grant may be awarded up to $3,000 per academic year. The grant will be disbursed evenly among eligible terms with no single term exceeding $1,000 in eligibility. Students will be considered for the grant upon completion of the admissions application process and accepted for enrollment to AIU Online. The grant is need-based and intended to assist students in covering remaining tuition charges after all available financial assistance has been utilized and a minimum monthly payment has been established with the University.
The grant is subject to the program eligibility limits listed below.
Eligibility
- Start with AIU Online January 31, 2018 or later
- Must first exhaust all other financial assistance options
- The grant, combined with all other sources of aid available to the student (federal/state financial aid grants and loan funds, military benefits*, private alternative loans, employer tuition reimbursement, etc.) may not exceed the total tuition, fees and course materials costs for the academic year
- Must maintain continuous enrollment in the term to which the grant is awarded
- Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) as outlined in the University catalog
- Maintain full-time enrollment for each academic term (at least 12 credit hours)
- May be combined with other grants and scholarships
- The grant is applied as a credit to the students account and no cash payment will be awarded
- The grant will be used exclusively toward academic program charges, including but not limited to tuition, fees and course materials and will be applied against all outstanding, past, current or future charges at the University's discretion
The grant will be disbursed at the completion of each academic term after determination that the grant eligibility criterion has been met.
*Students utilizing the Chapter 33 Post 9/11 benefits are not eligible to receive this grant
