Withdrawal from a Course

A student attending American InterContinental University must request a course withdrawal through their advisor. Requests must be made in advance of a session start or prior to the final week of a session.

• For withdrawals from a session before it begins, students must request and submit documentation prior to day 15 of the session

• For withdrawals from a current session, request and submission of documentation must occur within 15 days of the student’s Last Date of Attendance (LDA)

• Part-time graduate level students are not eligible; full-time graduate students are only eligible for withdrawal from a single course in a term

If a student requests a course withdrawal and does not submit the appropriate documentation within the allotted time-frame, the student will no longer be eligible for the course withdrawal (prior to session start), or may be withdrawn for non-submission of the required documentation (for a session in-progress).

Upon returning from a course withdrawal, the student must return to the same course(s) from which they withdrew. Financial aid and academics may be impacted by any course withdrawal. The Student Advising department must be contacted to initiate a course withdrawal request and to review implications, as well as to assist with the request and any questions that may arise.
