SAP Appeals Board
AIU provides a Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeals Board consisting of a combination of representatives from Academic Administration, Student Affairs, and faculty. The SAP Appeals Board reviews written student appeals or petitions for reconsideration regarding SAP. The SAP Appeals Board decision is final and may not be further appealed by the student. Students wishing to appeal a grade received in a class must follow the Grade Appeal Procedure.
Conflict of Interest Clause
No Appeals Board member shall sit in review of any decision he or she previously rendered which comes before the Board for review. This prohibition applies to situations where the Board member’s decision is actually being challenged and applies in situations where there may be an appearance of impropriety for a board member to review a decision based on either direct or indirect contact with the matter in question.
